Beta Reading
Before you invest in a full copyedit or proofread, a professional beta read helps you “test the waters” and make sure your story is structurally sound. Beta reading allows you to refine plot, pacing, tension, and character arcs before your manuscript enters its final stages. If you want to ensure your storytelling foundations are locked in, this service is designed for you.
If you’re struggling with specific sticking points, outlining, worldbuilding, or writer’s block, consider pairing your beta read with one-on-one coaching or critique sessions. (See the PA/VA Services page for details.)
A genre-specialized, professional beta reader can offer nuanced, actionable insights that go far beyond the surface-level feedback of crowd-sourced or general pre-release readers.
Please note: Beta reading services do not include copyediting, grammar, or spelling corrections. (Referrals can be provided!)
