We are not responsible for the content of the books we promote.
While we would love to properly vet every book that comes our way, we simply cannot screen every page for its content. We operate under an honor system, in which the author is expected to report any problematic content so we can disclose that with the readers.
If you happen to find something that violates our Terms of Service, please contact us.
Similarly, we are not responsible for the opinions of our readers.
When employing Hawthorn & Aster marketing services, you are engaging our resources, who are independent agents, with their own opinions, rating scales, etc. We understand that no author wants to see a rating below three stars, but we cannot ask our readers to review dishonestly. We, instead, ask that our readers hold off on reviews that are three stars or less until after tour/ARC completion.
You are not buying reviews. You are earning fair reviews from interested readers.
Because of this, we cannot guarantee a set number of reviewers per each tour/ARC. We also cannot guarantee their participation. We can only report on the number of sign-ups and the number of withdrawals (if they are reported to us ahead of time).
Readers, influencers, hosts, etc. will be removed if they show a pattern of unreliability.
While we understand life happens (and are willing to look past a few missed ARCs/Tours, so long as the reader in question has reached out to us), we have to protect our authors. Our authors are sharing the book with our readers in good faith, and we owe it to them to not allow their trust to be misplaced, or taken advantage of. Failure to participate in Tours/ARCs three or more times will result in immediate dismissal from the H&A team and permanent ban from our newsletter.
Hawthorn & Aster does not offer full refunds on completed tours/ARCs.
Due to the completed service, we cannot offer a full refund, as we have already spent some of your money on advertising/paying our staff, etc. We can offer a 25% - 50% reimbursement, depending on the service.
Hawthorn & Aster does not provide service refunds. Only the vendors can.
If you are dissatisfied with your service provider’s work, please speak with them directly about a refund. Hawthorn & Aster is a sole proprietorship with dedicated freelancers. This means that all services, outside of market, are subject to the service provider’s independent policies.
